February 2012

City of York Mayor C. Kim Bracey named Esaan Thai Restaurant, located at 30 North Beaver, the downtown York Merchant of the Month for February. Join us for a reception to celebrate Thursday February 23, at 5 p.m., at Esaan.

Esaan Thai Restaurant offers a variety of Thai dishes created by owner Jai Delp, a native of Thailand. A limited lunch service and a full service dinner are available. Delp has succeeded in creating a comfortable atmosphere where customers can grab a quick lunch or sit down and relax over a delicious dinner.

City of York Mayor C. Kim Bracey named The Left Bank Restaurant and Bar, located at 120 North George Street, the downtown York Merchant of the Month for January. Join us for a reception to celebrate Thursday, January 26, 5 p.m., at The Left Bank.

Owned by Chef David Albright, The Left Bank provides a cosmopolitan dining atmosphere and features a wide variety of international cuisine. York Mayor C. Kim Bracey named The Watchmaker's Daughter the downtown Merchant of the Month for December. 

The Watchmaker's Daughter is a third generation jewelry store that’s been doing business in downtown York since 1945. They are a full service jewelry store with in-house design and jewelry repair, watch repair, appraisal services and estate jewelry. They also buy gold and sterling silver.  The Watchmaker's Daughter strives to bring handmade jewelry and art into their shop from York and other regions. They provide their customers with a variety of choices in styles and price points. The Watchmaker's Daughter is dedicated to the downtown York community and helping the cultural district thrive by hosting guest artists on a bi-monthly schedule.

The Watchmaker's Daughter is located at 22 North Beaver Street in York.

York Mayor C. Kim Bracey named VILLA the downtown Merchant of the Month for November. VILLA is a Philadelphia, PA, based specialty retailer of urban-inspired apparel and footwear products. York Mayor C. Kim Bracey named Green Bean Roasting Co. the downtown Merchant of the Month for October. The Green Bean Roasting Co., located at 100 South Beaver Street, is a retail coffee shop and on-site coffee roasting company. Owners Jennifer Schreiber and Vanessa DeLisio take great pride in their coffee and signature beverages. Their goal at Green Bean is to provide each customer with not only a top-notch coffee experience, but also to help customers relax in a chic, comfortable environment.

Kim Bracey named Grace Manor Bed and Breakfast the downtown Merchant of the Month for September.  Grace Manor Bed and Breakfast, located at 258 West Market Street, is the premiere B&B in downtown York.  Each room is meticulously designed to transport guests to romantic destinations such as France, Mexico, and Malaysia. York Mayor C. Kim Bracey named The New Hub Store the downtown Merchant of the Month for August. York Mayor C. Kim Bracey named Sunrise Soap Company the downtown Merchant of the Month for July. Sunrise Soap Company, located at 29 North Beaver Street, is a unique body care shop offering all natural products including soaps, lip balms, lotions, shampoos and conditioners, body scrubs, body butters and much more providing a skin-healthy alternative to many of the harsh soaps found on store shelves. All products are made in the on-site kitchen where visitors are welcomed to watch or join in with make-your-own body care party packages for birthdays, girl scouts, or family outings.

York Mayor C. Kim Bracey named Keo Asian Restaurant the downtown Merchant of the Month for June. Keo Asian Restaurant, located at 15 South George Street, serves modern Asian cuisine, specializing in Southeast Asian with influences from China. Offering  healthy foods with fresh ingredigents, including sushi, at inexpensive prices, Keo is an exotic alternative to typical lunch and dinner menus.

York Mayor C. Kim Bracey named York Swing Dance Club the downtown Merchant of the Month for May. York Swing Dance Club, located at 324 West Market Street, is a nonprofit organization dedicated to the practice and preservation of vintage dances like Lindy Hop, Balboa, Charleston and Blues. The Club offers weekly dances, instructional workshops, and special events with visiting instructors.The Club gathers weekly on Fridays from 9 p.m. to midnight with a beginner lesson from 8-9 p.m. Casual dress is encouraged and partners aren’t required.
