Each month City of York Mayor C. Kim Bracey, in partnership with Downtown Inc, shines a spotlight on one downtown business, celebrating our small business community and thanking them for locating in downtown York.

March 2013

City of York Mayor C. Kim Bracey named Klepper’s Security Source the downtown York Merchant of the Month for March. Join us for a reception to celebrate Tuesday, March 26, at 5 p.m., at the store, located at 117 East King Street in York.

Klepper’s has been securing businesses and residents of York County for nearly one-hundred years. Since being established in 1920 as specializing in lock supply and cut keys, the business has moved to the forefront of security technology. Now, Klepper’s is a one-stop security store with access control, closed-circuit TVs, intercom systems, safes, door hardware and automotive services.

February 2013

City of York Mayor C. Kim Bracey named The Roosevelt Tavern the downtown York Merchant of the Month for February. Join us for a reception to celebrate Thursday, February 21, at 5 p.m., at the restaurant, located at 50 North Penn Street in York.

The Roosevelt Tavern has been a residence, a tailor, a grocery store, a cigar shop, a tap room, and more since it was first built in the 1860’s. In 2011 it was reopened by York County native Byron Kehr Jr and his wife Lauren. They use the farm-to-table mentality to recreate all of the menus and partner with local farmers.

City of York Mayor C. Kim Bracey named Friends the Salon the downtown York Merchant of the Month for January. Join us for a reception to celebrate Thursday, January 24, at 5 p.m., at the salon, located at 101 North Newberry Street in York.

Friends the Salon professional stylists specialize in dreadlocks and national hair styling as well as permanently relaxed hair. They are well-versed in creating natural looking hair weaves, precision cuts, hair coloring and temple massages. To celebrate, Friends the Salon will offer free services, consultations, door prizes, discount coupons, food and entertainment at their celebration.
