What an exciting time for downtown York! Thanks to support from the community, we are able to continue our work to increase foot traffic in downtown York, make improvements to the physical appearance of our downtown district, and keep an increasing number of people in the loop about events and activities taking place downtown. 

Our 2012 event calendar includes an expanded First Fridays program, our popular walking tour series, the Go Green in York City festival, a Boutique Week, and the annual Downtown Kickball Tournament at Sovereign Bank Stadium. In September, we'll host the 12th annual Downtown First Awards and recognize businesses and individuals in eight award categories for their dedication to putting downtown York first through their financial and volunteer commitments and advocacy.  

In addition to our events, we are expanding our beautification efforts and streetscape improvement initiatives, as well as addressing issues such as parking and wayfinding, and public safety.

We have also been working hard to recruit volunteers and have increased our committee participation to nearly 100 people who care very deeply about the revitalization of downtown York. Our newest committee members have hit the ground running and we are thrilled with the level of enthusiasm and expertise they bring to our organization. Our committees are making big plans for 2012 and with your support, those plans will foster the renaissance of downtown York.
