Experience York’s rich history and vibrant present through this series of walking tours. Themes have been developed to highlight York’s distinct history, architecture, revitalization, and lore.

General Tour Information
Tours step off at the time noted in each tour description. Pre-registration is encouraged, and required for specified tours. Tours last approximately two hours, unless otherwise noted. Guests are encouraged to wear comfortable shoes, and may bring personal items such as a flashlight or umbrella.
Pubs of York

We're partnering with the York County Heritage Trust and taking a trip back in time to 1741 when the Golden Plough Tavern played a significant role as York’s “hotel,” restaurant and source of news.
Join us as we stroll through downtown York and visit the city’s significant watering holes through history and into the present day!
We’ll stop at various downtown locations to learn about York’s brewing history, how the craft has changed over time, and how this traditional craft is alive and thriving in downtown York.

York in the Gettysburg Campaign
Thursday, June 20th at 6:00 p.m.
Join author Scott Mingus as he returns to lead our York in the Gettysburg Campaign walking tour.
On this tour of Civil War York, he will discuss the town during the war years with a special focus on the Confederate invasion of York during the 1863 Gettysburg Campaign.
**This tour will stop frequently to discuss different historical events and buildings, as well as the people.
