Downtown Inc, the organization committed to driving, enhancing, and encouraging investment in Downtown York is proud to announce two changes to the York Business Improvement District Authority Board of Directors – a new member, and a new Secretary of the Board.
The Executive Committee welcomes Lauren Days, owner of Skillet2Plate Soul Bistro and Sara Ellen Event Venue, as Secretary. Lauren joined the Authority Board in 2022 and is an active advocate of Downtown York, with two businesses in the WeCo District. She is committed to providing spaces in the City that allow families and friends to celebrate, collaborate, entertain and network together. Through her business ventures, Lauren continuously strives to uplift other small business owners by giving them the spotlight at her event venue, using them as a supplier in her restaurant, or hosting a networking event to increase collaboration.
Joining the Authority Board is Sarah Malinsky, Administrative Manager with Royal Square Development & Construction (RSDC). With six years of dedicated service at RSDC, Sarah possesses a unique blend of organizational prowess and effective communication skills. Her commitment to community involvement is exemplified through past and present board experiences, including roles with the YWCA Junior Board and York Young Professionals. Currently, Sarah contributes her expertise to the Valley Youth House as a member of the Central Board of Governors. Sarah is a graduate of the Leadership Training Program, Class of 2020, further demonstrating her dedication to personal and professional development. Beyond her professional endeavors, Sarah finds fulfillment in leading tours of Downtown York and volunteering at local events, showcasing her passion for both her profession and community engagement.
“We are thrilled to have Lauren’s continued, and enhanced service, to the Board, and welcome Sarah with her expertise and dedication to Downtown York. Our Board of Directors looks forward to continuing our work of developing, managing and implementing downtown revitalization best practices in the heart of York City,” said Aneury Perez, Chair of the YBIDA.
The YBIDA also thanks prior Secretary, Allison Witherow with ONE Hospitality, for her dedicated service. Allison is a true ambassador of Downtown Inc and dedicated many volunteer hours and lent her expertise to support the work of the organization and the York Business Improvement District Authority.
