Downtown Inc is excited to announce the launch of its newly revamped Downtown Ambassador Program, designed for community members passionate about enhancing and promoting the vibrant culture of Downtown York. Details & application can be found here.
Downtown Inc Ambassadors play a vital role in elevating the reach and work of Downtown Inc. They work collaboratively as a united front alongside Downtown Inc and the York County Economic Alliance (YCEA) to boost community engagement and support local businesses.
Responsibilities include engaging in a variety of volunteer opportunities such as:
- Attending official ribbon cuttings, small business celebrations, and special events.
- Participating in downtown beautification initiatives like graffiti and litter removal, and clean-ups.
- Volunteering at signature Downtown Inc events such as Go Green in the City, Sip & Savor, and Hanging of the Greens.
- Serving as “eyes on the street” to report opportunities and challenges in downtown.
- Connecting small businesses with resources like BLOOM Business Empowerment Center grants, loans and workshops and York County Trail Towns program.
- Using social media to promote the numerous great happenings in Downtown York.
New ambassadors will also be required to attend Downtown Inc Ambassador Training to ensure effective contributions to our mission.
Joining the Ambassador Team comes with perks, including:
- Invitations to ribbon cuttings and networking opportunities with expanded businesses.
- Inclusion in distribution lists for media releases on city events.
- Opportunities to participate in insider tours, field trips, and social events.
- Features in the Downtown Inc Magazine and social media spotlights.
- Access to a network of resources through our Merchant & Resource Facebook group.
- Discounts on events and merchandise including “buy one get one free” ticket packages for bi-annual events.
