Downtown York will sparkle this winter as the inaugural Champagne Fest takes place January 29 through February 1, 2026, inviting visitors to toast the season with sparkling wine, festive cocktails, and immersive downtown experiences. Hosted by The Handsome Cab, this multi-day celebration highlights York’s vibrant hospitality scene while encouraging guests to explore the city’s walkable downtown, local restaurants, bars, and creative spaces.
Proudly sponsored by Explore York and supported by Downtown Inc, Champagne Fest is designed to elevate Downtown York as a destination—even during the quieter winter months—by blending curated tasting events with lively, neighborhood-based experiences.
Throughout the weekend, attendees can enjoy sparkling cocktail tastings at The Handsome Cab, themed pop-ups including Prosecco and CAVA bars, and the highly anticipated Champagne Stroll on Saturday, January 31. Stroll participants will begin at The Handsome Cab to pick up a commemorative glass and event map before making their way through more than a dozen downtown venues, each offering tastings and special features along the route.
Champagne Fest embraces the charm and energy of Downtown York, showcasing how easy it is to explore the city on foot while supporting locally owned businesses. From cozy cocktail bars to creative gathering spaces, the festival invites both locals and regional visitors to experience York as a place to linger, celebrate, and connect.
The weekend kicks off in style with a 1920s-themed Opening Night fundraiser for Downtown Inc. For one night only, The Handsome Cab transforms into the Club Ritz, transporting guests back to the era of Prohibition. Attendees are encouraged to dress the part—whether channeling classic Dick Tracy characters like Tess Trueheart or Big Boy Caprice, or simply embracing their most fabulous vintage look. The evening features light appetizers, lively entertainment, playful “gambling,” and bootleg-inspired fun, with proceeds benefiting Downtown York initiatives. Get your tickets here.
