There is no shortage of culinary delights to be found in Historically Edgy Downtown York. Among the many restaurants and bars downtown, many cater to the dog-loving customer. On May 1, in celebration of Give Local York 2020, Downtown Inc’s Communication Coordinator, Hannah Beard, and her four-legged foodie partner, Groovy, will be going live on Downtown York’s Facebook page to highlight the many dog-friendly venues and to showcase the work of Downtown Inc, in supporting the growth and sustainability of the downtown business community.
Among the many dog-friendly options, Fig and Barrel, Revival Social Club, Holy Hound Taproom and Mudhook Brewing Co. offer outdoor seating with delicious food for you and water bowls and plenty of pets from the friendly staff. The Cantina is home to a large courtyard full of festive food, margaritas, and live tunes. Gift Horse presents a large grass yard with picnic tables, live music, and cornhole in addition to great beers.
While these Downtown York dining and drinking options are closed for in-house enjoyment due to COVID-19, our Downtown will re-open again and we look forward to the day when we can enjoy these great dining experiences with our four-legged friends. Until then, many are still offering delivery and curbside options.
The growth of the Downtown York restaurant community is supported by the mission of Downtown Inc – to encourage and enhance investment in Downtown York. As part of that mission, Downtown Inc has been able to provide funds for businesses to grow and thrive through the Downtown Bloom Grant Program.
All donations given to Downtown Inc on May 1, will go directly to the Downtown Bloom Grant Fund, to make more York City business successes possible. In 2019, Downtown Inc awarded Bloom Grants to seven Downtown York businesses. To read more about the work of Downtown Inc and its involvement in Give Local York, click here.
