The York County Economic Alliance and Downtown Inc are proud to announce continued evolution for our team that Makes Things Happen in our Historically Edgy Downtown York!
Sarah O’Brien has been named the next Director of Downtown Inc. Sarah boasts over 20 years of experience in downtown revitalization and Main Street organizational leadership. Throughout her career, she has worked for City governments, Main Street organizations, travel and tourism non-profits and has served various leadership capacities across Texas, including having served as a two-time past President of Texas Downtown. Sarah believes community engagement is the singular purpose that connects each role and can inspire transformational change. She will assume the role of Director of Downtown Inc, on April 8.
Now a resident of York City, Sarah’s expertise in strategic development, local government relationships, master planning, and conducting downtown assessments and planning will increase the impact of an already robust Downtown Inc team.
“Sarah’s skillset and talent for Main Street work, combined with her passion for community change, make her the ideal candidate to join our team,” said Kevin Schreiber, President & CEO of the York County Economic Alliance. “Her leadership in this role will continue to drive forward our community’s success.
“I am honored and thrilled to join the YCEA and Downtown Inc team,” shared Sarah. “I look forward to serving my new community in this exciting role and am passionate about being a part of downtown York’s continued revitalizatation efforts.”
In addition to holding previous roles with the cities of Bastrop, Marshall and Nacogdoches, all in Texas, Sarah is a published author and an avid speaker about Main Street revitalization, and led consulting projects for a multitude of economic development organizations.
